Participate in an Open Rehearsal
Conducted by Maestro Itzhak Perlman THIS JULY
Free Program, Presented by East End Arts

(RIVERHEAD, NY, May 31, 2016) – East End Arts is proud to announce a special opportunity for student string players to participate in the East End Arts Student Orchestra’s fifth annual collaborative project with the prestigious Perlman Music Program. East End Arts is assembling a group of Long Island string students ages 8 through 18 studying orchestral string instruments (violin, viola, cello, double bass) again this summer. Students will participate in an open rehearsal under the baton of world-famous, internationally acclaimed violin virtuoso and conductor Itzhak Perlman, alongside The Perlman Music Program String Orchestra in a free and open to the public rehearsal on Thursday, July 28, 2016, at 5:30 PM at the Southold High School. There are no auditions for this tuition-free program, although pre-registration by Friday, July 8, 2016 is required for participation.

Prior to the open rehearsal with Maestro Perlman at the end of July, a series of four rehearsals will take place at the East End Arts School located at 141 E. Main Street in Riverhead:
• Rehearsals on Mondays, July 11, 18, and Tuesday, July 25, 2016, 4:00 – 6:00 PM,
• Mandatory full rehearsal on Wednesday, July 27, 2016, 4:00 – 6:00 PM, and
• Open rehearsal under the baton of Maestro Perlman and with the Perlman Music Program Orchestra will take place on Thursday, July 28, at 5:30 PM at Southold High School (420 Oaklawn Ave, Southold, NY 11971), with a student participant call time of 4:00 PM.

Violin, viola, cello, and double bass students ages 8 through 18 wishing to participate must register in advance, by Friday, July 8, online at
