Weekly Community Drum Circle, Free
Wednesdays, July & August, 6:00 – 7:30 PM
Presented by East End Arts

(RIVERHEAD, NY, July 6, 2017) –– East End Arts proudly announces that their Community Drum Circle has returned again this summer, sponsored by the Riverhead Business Improvement District. The first summer drum circle will be on Wednesday, July 19, and will be held every following Wednesday from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM throughout July and August at the East End Arts Carriage House located behind the EEA School, 141 E. Main Street in Riverhead, NY. Led by master drummer Matt Gardiner, participants learn traditional West African hand drumming and chant in the drum circle setting. Participants will be instructed in proper hand use and technique, which will enable them to produce a variety of sounds from the single skin of the Djembe drum. Drums are provided for on-site use, but participants are welcome to bring their own. Ages twelve and up through adult are welcome, and all levels are encouraged to attend this free weekly program. Donations suggested. For more information, visit https://eastendartsorg.presencehost.net/calendar/event/2017/07/19/1500505200/weekly-community-drum-circle/165820
