Strategic Opportunity Stipend (SOS)

ATTENTION ARTISTS/MUSICIANS OF ALL DISCIPLINES!!
A Strategic Opportunity Stipend (SOS) of up to $1500 is available to Long Island artists and musicians living in Nassau and Suffolk counties. Click HERE for More Information and Application.

Two SOS grant-writing workshops will be held to explain how artists can apply for the SOS grant:

  • Wednesday, August 31, 5-6PM, Islip Art Museum, located at 50 Irish Lane, East Islip, NY 11730
  • Thursday, September 1, 5-6PM, East End Arts Council Carriage House, located behind the Gallery at 133 East Main Street, Riverhead, NY 11901

Please call 631-727-0900 to register for either of these free workshops. These workshops will help artists better understand the requirements of the grant application process. All artists are encouraged to attend.

Riverhead Town Hall Exhibit

In partnership with the Town of Riverhead, the East End Arts Council invites member artists to apply for consideration to exhibit their work in the Riverhead Town Hall Walker Corridor. Click Here for More Information and Application.

Statewide Program Provides Individual Consultations to Visual Artists

The East End Arts Council will be arranging individual consultations for visual artists with New York Foundation for the Arts MARK alumni on Wednesday, September 23, 2011 from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. at its Gallery located at 133 East Main Street in Riverhead. Artists seeking professional feedback on questions related to sharing a new body of work, preparing an artist statement, planning a website, or other business issues will get a private 20 minute consultation. Emergency Funds for Artists

WomenArts is a worldwide community of artists and allies that works for empowerment, opportunity, and visibility for women artists. We provide a variety of free online networking, fundraising and advocacy services, and we organize Support Women Artists Now Day (SWAN Day), an annual international holiday celebrating women's creativity in all its forms. Their website provides an excellent list of emergency resources for artists of all disciplines (and genders!)
