COLLAGE USING OIL PAINT, WITH ARTIST JOHN HAUBRICH

Date: Sat. August 7, 2010 Time: 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Place: EEAC Carriage House

Please join us for a two hour presentation with Oil Collage Artist John Haubrich. Mr. Haubrich will discuss his technique of oil based collage, and the inspirations behind his work.
Mr. Haubrich uses cumulative layers of oil, pastels, pencil, as well as paper and found objects. At a certain point, the flow of buildup on the canvas is reversed through a process of cumulative stripping away of layers. The results in his work are complex, spontaneous and emotionally evocative, yielding richly textured and colored surfaces.
Mr. Haubrich's abstract work speaks of the spiritual notions of mystery, wonder, harmony, and decay, focusing not only on the external, but the internal world as well. He reminds us that our lives are full of the marvel and wonder, and also sadness and endings. His work speaks of the internal and external search for serenity, for acceptance, and our place in the world. To see John's style please visit: www.johnhaubrichartist.com
