The East End Arts Council will hold the Musician's Think Tank: 2008 Networking Session on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 1:00 pm in the EEAC Carriage House, located on the grounds of the Arts Council, 133 East Main Street, Riverhead. The event is open to the entire music community to share ideas in an open forum, and to discuss the issues and needs of musicians on the East End.
Specific topics include:
• the formation of an East End Musician’s Registry
• recording and rehearsal capabilities of the EEAC
• grant opportunities
Speakers for the day include:
• Don Palmer, Director of the Individual Artists Program for the New York State Council on the Arts
• Lisa Johnson, Director of the Music Program for the New York State Council on the Arts
• George Cork Maul, East End composer, will lead a discussion on "the shifting paradigm of value in performance" in an attempt to assess the inherent impacts of live music on any audience
