Current Arts Council Calls For Artists

 
1. The "BOTANICALS SHOW ", Dropoff dates: April 15-17, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Open to all artists. All media, including painting, drawing, photography, mixed media, video, sculpture and poetry. Original work only, no reproductions. No 'appropriated' elements unless original artist is credited in the title of your piece.

AWARDS: "Best in Show" winner will be one of seven artists who will participate in the EEAC "Winners' Show" in the Fall of 2011. First, Second, Third Place and Honorable Mentions will also be awarded.


PRESENTATION: Professional presentation will be considered in the judging process. Work with a clean 'gallery edge' will be happily accepted unframed (canvas edge must be neatly painted or taped, no staples or tacks visible). Nicely framed artwork is also acceptable. ALL ENTRIES MUST BE PROPERLY WIRED! Please be sure neither wire nor hook shows above top edge of canvas when hung on a 1" hook.

SIZE: Maximum 30" wide x 40" high, including the frame. Sculpture Max. 72" high 24"wide. Maximum weight 40 lbs.

ENTRIES & FEES: Open to all artists. (See Prospectus for CD Entry Rules[photo shows only] and 2010 Poetry Entry Rules.) Entries limited to three works, which have not been exhibited in previous EEAC shows. EEAC MEMBERS: $10.00 entry fee for each piece (3 pieces for $25). NON MEMBERS: $20.00 per piece (3 for $55). Entry fees are non-refundable. Artists may become members at time of submission. A gallery service fee of 30% will be taken upon sale.

ABOUT THE JUROR: Rick Friedman,
Art Collector/Founder of ArtHamptons Over the past 5 years, Rick Friedman has become a serious collector of 20th Century American art. Having acquired nearly 100 paintings during this period, he frequently loans his artworks to exhibitions and museum shows and has been featured in American Art Collector Magazine. With his current foray into the art fair business, Rick matches his passion for art, his many contacts in the art world, his experience as one of the Hamptons most successful event producers, with his ability to create successful dynamic marketplaces for buyers and sellers. In 2009 ArtHamptons generated $10,000,000 in art sales.

2. Artist Alert! New Opportunity, the "RIVERHEAD DOWNTOWN STOREFRONT ART SHOW ", CD ONLY Dropoff date: April 16, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Open to all artists. All media, including painting, drawing, photography, mixed media, video, sculpture and poetry. Original work only, no reproductions. No 'appropriated' elements unless original artist is credited in the title of your piece.

JPEGS should be no more than 200 DPI each and no longer than 7”on any side. • Identify images with a Sharpie directly on CD in the order they will open. Your last name, entry #,Title, Medium, Size and your Phone Number. Example: Smith, Entry #, “Surfer Girl”, Acrylic on canvas, 40” x 72”, 631-727-9876
