Poetry Submission Rules

General Poetry Submission Rules:

·  All entries must be digitally submitted Microsoft ‘Word’ files/.doc (if you have the newer version of word please save as ‘.doc’, not ,’docx’’, formatted to print on letter-sized paper no longer than one page typed at 10 point Helvetica (minimum) in vertical (portrait, not landscape) format.
 

· Do not put your name on the poem; Name, Title of Show, Title of Poem(s), Address, Town and Phone number go on Poetry Entry Form, available at the EEAC gallery or website (click here for form).  Title of Poem is required on each (unsigned) poem.

 

· Email your poems to gallery@eastendarts.org . As email ‘subject’ put your last name and the words ‘poetry entry’. Poems must arrive digitally no later than 2 days before the earliest drop-off date for art. This gives the poetry committee time to receive the poems (emailed anonymously from the EEAC) and thoughtfully consider all poems submitted before deciding which poems to exhibit and which to honor with First, Second and Third place.

 

· Your entry fee payment of $5 per poem  for members ($10 non-members) and filled out entry form must arrive at the gallery before your poem(s) or your poetry cannot be considered

 

· First, second and third place are awarded.  First-place winners are honored in the Winners’ Show the following year.

 

· Be sure your poems, payment and paperwork arrive at the gallery no later than the Tuesday of the week before the opening.

 

· Poems that arrive by email without entry form and payment having been previously received by mail will not be accepted.
