CALL FOR ARTISTS 2019

If you are an East End Arts member, come exhibit and sell your original wall art at
The Gift of Art.

New this year, we will fill our gallery walls with your creations. The in gallery exhibit, and corresponding shopEEA.com online gallery, will be organized to present artworks at various price points to appeal to all holiday shoppers. This is an exciting new opportunity for our artist members this holiday season and we look forward to presenting your original artworks to visitors from all over Long Island who come to EEA to find unique holiday gifts.

Important Information:

Participation: You must be a member of East End Arts and contribute a $20 participation fee to exhibit in the Holiday Art Show. 

Price point: Gallery spaces will be organized by price points with a room for items priced at $100 and below, a room at $200 and below, a room at $300 and below and a room priced over $300. 

Emerging artists: This year we are including young artists (i.e. children of members), 17 years and younger, in the holiday show. EEA will contribute its gallery commission on these sales to our East End Arts School Scholarship Fund. In lieu of the $20.00 participation fee, we will collect 50% commission on each piece sold.

Sale items: Each Artist can exhibit one piece within each per price point up to a total of 3 pieces. All items must be attractively presented and ready to hang (i.e. wired or with mounting bracket).

Gallery monitoring: exhibitors are required to staff the gallery during open gallery hours. The commitment is two days. This is also a great opportunity to personally promote your art. Emerging artists are exempt from monitoring, but are welcome to sit-in during show hours to present their artwork to potential clients if they'd like.

Sales: EEA will handle sales transactions and collect NY state sales tax. Participants are required to provide an IRS form W9 at time of drop off (required for payout after event).

Item refresh: We will allow shoppers to take their purchases with them and we will replace sold items with a new piece from our inventory. Some artists may be asked to submit another piece if inventory is low.

Commission: a 30% sales commission on show sales net of any discounts.

Artist payments: payment for sold items will be made the month following show close.

Pick-up: Items must be removed at the conclusion of the event. Items left 90 days beyond show close will be considered abandoned and become the property of East End Arts. 

Important note: EEA is not responsible for lost, stolen, damaged, or unaccounted for items. All items are left at the owner's risk.


Application Process:

1. Complete the application below
2. Submit online applications by Friday, October 25, 2019 by 5:00pm 
3. Participants must submit images of your work for review - include image of piece, medium, title, dimensions and price for each piece
4. You will be notified if your work is selected by email no later than November 1st. Selection criteria will include timeliness of submission, quality of presentation as well as the work itself. 
5. Drop-offs accepted at the gallery Saturday through Wednesday November 9th - 13th between 9am and 1pm.

*Due to space restrictions, not all submissions can be accepted. Priority will be given on a first come first served basis, adherence to price point guidelines (i.e. one piece per price point), and those submitting more than one piece.

 

Important Note: East End Arts reserves the right to select or deny show content based on quality and acceptability. Items deemed unacceptable for inclusion in the gallery will not be accepted at the time of your drop off appointment.

 

DROP-OFF INSTRUCTIONS:  

Wall Art: up to 3 pieces of wall art will be accepted per artist. Each piece must be priced within the various price points (i.e. one piece at $100 and below, a second at $200 and below and a third at Over $300). 

Art Pieces: Up to three ready to hang pieces labeled as described below.

Labels: label pieces prior to drop-off. Use small removable labels attached to lower right hand corner (i.e. Avery Easy Peel labels). Tags must include artist initials / ID (at least 3 letters), item number and price. Label both from and back of piece. 

Calendar: You must complete the sign-up for monitoring before drop-off
