This class is perfect for the beginner as well as the advanced Pastelist. Students will learn what pastel is, and is not, plus the many different papers and techniques to apply them. We will discuss the varieties of pastels and how they work in unison to create glorious color passages. Exploring many subjects, this class will familiarize the student with the application process and the technique of layering colors to obtain that “glow” that makes Pastels so exciting! So come one, come all and enjoy the beauty of Pastels in a friendly and educational environment! All are welcomed!
Session 1 - September 15, 22, 29, & October 6, 2022

Four two hour classes: $200.00

Papers: Canson Mi-Tientes – Felt Grey, Steel Grey, or any other Neutral color. Available in Michaels
Drawing Support: A smooth drawing board or surface to attach the paper too. Masonite hardboard or gator board works well. EEA has some large boards. Attach the paper to boards using masking tape for hardboard or drafting tape for gatorboard.
Types of Pastels: The largest set of Nupastels, Rembrandt or Girault you can afford. A few small sets of each would be good. DO NOT use OIL PASTELS, ALPHA PASTELS, or LOEW CORNELL pastels.
Easels: Standing easel or Table easel
