Various Topics for Oil Painting
with Laura Stroh

“Various Topics in Oil Painting”
In this course, artists will be exposed to a few different topics or subject matter to paint. In this course, we will paint a still life, a landscape, an abstract, and a topic of your choice. You may or may not finish the painting in class. But I encourage all artists to try to finish it during the following week and to bring it to class so that we may see it.

The beauty of a classroom of artists is so that you may see each other’s works. That’s a great way to learn! I will supply the artists with a visual to work from, and will do one or more demonstrations throughout the session. Water-soluble oils, as well as acrylics, are welcome. You will receive a materials lists when you register. Join us!

Annual Elizabeth Richard Members Show: Dan's Reimagined ~ East End Arts Members find inspiration from Dan's Papers cover art and reimagine it in their own style for this all mediums exhibition!

There are few visuals more iconic to the East End of Long Island than a cover of Dan's Papers. In 1987, after decades of being a traditional newsprint, Dan Rattiner made a bold move. "I thought it might really help the artists of the Hamptons if I put a glossy wrap around the paper and published the artwork of some of our fine painters as a frontispiece to the publication. It would be unique, something nobody had ever done before. Would people still pick up the paper?" he recalls in a 2011 story. Despite naysayers, including artists themselves, Dan stuck to his vision and has showcased tens of thousands of local artists. This Members' Show is a nod to Dan's creativity and resolve as well as to those who have graced the cover of Dan's Papers.

EEA BLTN (Better Late Than Never)
Adult Rock Band with Director Rick DeLuca

It is time to dust off your guitar, tune your bass, drag your drumset from the basement, and start exercising your vocal cords. The band is getting back together!!

Rick, a seasoned Rocker, will lead this group of musicians, that are too busy to play and awaken their love of jamming with the band. Now that secret ambition to be a rock star can be a reality.

It's a great way to unwind and socialize in a fun setting and to live the dream! The goal is to work on a setlist chosen by the group and to get you out there playing. If the kids can do it (EEA Rocks) you certainly can.

Life Drawing - 4-week session
Monitored by Van Howell

Life Drawing is an essential step in the growth of one's artistic journey. This class is for all levels and is an independent study amongst other artists. Beginners have the chance to draw from the live model and make decisions on what to put down on paper.

Experienced artists can use the time to hone in on a specific problem area or just come to keep their drawing skills fresh.

The two-hour sessions will consist of short poses ranging from two to twenty minutes. A monitor will be present to set up and time the poses and to sketch along with the group. There will be an added 30-minute critique at the end of the class

You are welcome to observe the monitor’s practice and discuss the process during the breaks. Everyone can learn from each other.

All supplies are the responsibility of the student.
Chairs and easels will be provided.

Students under the age of 18 years will be required to sign a waiver/parental consent form, indicating that they understand that the models will be nude.
