Marlene Markard

Marlene (pronounced Mar-lay-na) Markard has been making music since she was a young child and is passionate about playing, teaching, and making music with others. She is a classically-trained pianist and a licensed Musikgarten teacher. Marlene attended the Pre-College Divisions of The Juilliard School, The Manhattan School of Music and the Mannes College of Music, from which she earned her Music Certificate. She holds a B.A., cum laude, in English Literature and Music from Barnard College, where she was a cross-registration at The Manhattan School of Music. Marlene has participated in international music festivals and in master classes with Yo Yo Ma and Yevgeny Kissin. Her teachers have included Dalia Sakas, Jane Carlson, Solomon Mikowsky, and Arkady Aronov. She also has an active concert schedule as soloist and duettist throughout Long Island.
